Quebec Wants to Open a State- authorized Online Poker

Due to poker’s popularity in the internet, Quebec has also entered the deal to open a State- authorized online gaming operation.

Loto-Quebec holds the control on the online lottery in the Canadian province and they announced that their government will authorized the provincial gaming like internet gambling and online poker games for all its citizens. They also publicized that they will set up one site in the second half of this year to cater all the players of Quebec. They wanted to collect all the revenues that only go to illegal channels in their location.

The British Columbia government together with the Loto-Quebec, are looking to expand their plans in order to protect the right of individual consumers. Their online site will feature an assistance program to all its players to address the concerns that will arise in regard to online gaming. This preventive measure will help players prevent the happening of difficult issues that includes the age verification, deposits limits, and problem gambling in the online site.

A robbery had taken place during the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Berlin and was shown on a German television which is comparable to “America’s Most Wanted”.

The police are seeking help from all poker players who somehow has an idea with regards to the robbery. The reason for airing the said robbery is for those viewers to call the local police for any information they wish to give that could help in the investigation.

The TV show in which it was shown has already been known to present unresolved mysteries like the America’s Most Wanted show. As for now, what is known is that there are four gunmen who held up the registration area of the tournament which was sponsored by PokerStars. Unfortunately, these four gunmen were able to escape bringing with them a handful amount of money.

With the incident, officials of PokerStars together with Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin are improving their security measure to avoid the incident to happen again. Kevin “ImaLuckCas” MacPhee suggested not to have tournament again but if cannot be done, provide proper security measure to the highest level for the safety of all players. Players were told to leave the area when the incident happened.
